Two Weeks Old!

I feel like Eleanor has grown already. Well, I know she has because at her one week doctor appointment she had already gained 7 ounces and half an inch! Her legs have filled out a little bit and most of the flaky skin on her hands and feet has come off. Luckily, she is still keeping her soft, silky hair so far. She likes to sleep, eat, and more recently, look around as if she is very surprised by what she is seeing. You should see some of the looks she gives Adam! Just last night, I had this feeling like she was really seeing me for the first time. It is wonderful to take care of a baby again and I am so grateful that she is my daughter!

Lady Like

Anna was very excited to have her nails polished for the first time! She did a great job of keeping her hands still and even after I told her the polish was dry, she still walked around the house holding out her hands for about half an hour! We also had fun saying the name of the color, Lady Like. Anna is my little lady and an awfully sweet big sister too!

Me and my girls! I am so in love!

Pumpkin Patch

The pumpkin patch took on new meaning for our family this year, since I told Anna that her baby sister would arrive when we saw the pumpkins return to the church near our house. There's a stoplight there, so many times as we'd be waiting in the morning, Anna would say, "When the pumpkins come, the baby's gonna pop out?" Yes Anna, something like that!

Anna likes the pumpkin patch for the facepainting, pony rides, and of course, all the pumpkins!

So far, we're not sure what Eleanor thinks because she has slept through both visits!

Changing Seasons

Over the past few years, I've started to love the transition from summer to fall: the cooler weather, anticipating the holidays, and the sights, tastes, and smells that accompany this time of year. I think it's a very good time to be born and this year the house feels especially festive thanks to our family and friends!
Flowers from Adam and some little pumpkins we picked out at the patch.

Pumpkin and witch that Mom and Anna made.

Flowers from Olivia and Dan.

Kelly gave me this little card when I was pregnant with Anna and it is very special to me.

Flowers from Stacy, Ryan, Thomas, and Sam.

When we arrived home from the hospital, our moms had decorated the front porch!

First Days

Eleanor seems to really like the swing, just like Anna did!

It was great to have so many of our loved ones come to meet baby Eleanor during her first days of life.

Anna wanted Baby Eleanor to sit with her in her castle that we built. You can see she is already quite possessive of her little sister. She loves to help take care of her and hold her.

Adam is a natural! :)
